Hiking for Rhododendron in Fagaras Mountains – Sambata Valley

June 2011

At the end of June Your Guide team did a one day hike on Sambata Valley in Fagaras Mountains. The target was climbing up to Racorele Pass on Dragusului Ridge to admire the blossomed rhododendron at its best. Fagaras Mountains greeted again our team with the best possible weather. The hike was medium difficulty and quite long, so we started early in the morning from Brancoveanu Monastery. But it totally payed off, as we saw the beautiful flowers and black goats. Racorele Pass gives the tourist a 360 hard to forget view over Fagaras Mountains. Late in the evening we returned to Brancoveanu Monastery after ten hours of hike.
